Our Purpose

Unpredictable lives

Socio-demographic shifts

Incomplete science

Fast-moving technology …

… we can’t control complexity

but we can shape our response

Successful care transformations

don’t happen by accident

We partner with health organisations to design, build, and grow the care experiences that change outcomes‚ combining human empathy (EQ), strategic rigour (IQ) and responsible AI (RAI)

We listen before we proceed. We serve before we lead

About us

Care transformation for a changing world

Health systems and actors face pressures from every direction. Patients expect more. Resources shrink. Technology moves faster than organisations can absorb it. The old playbooks don’t hold.

Else is a partnership of experienced Health & Care professionals that partners with health organisations‚ from hospitals and payers to pharma and MedTech‚ to transform how care gets developed, delivered, and experienced.

We bring three things to every engagement: the empathy to understand what’s really happening on the ground, the analytical depth to know what will work, and the disciplined use of AI and other tools to accelerate and scale it.

We don’t hand over decks and leave. We measure our success not by the solutions we deliver, but by how much stronger your teams and systems are when we’re done.

Our APPROACH

From complexity to clarity, to impact in three moves

Purpose

Before we propose, we listen

  • Context mapping & insights
  • Shared understanding, framing & alignment
  • Vision co-creation & decision facilitation

Design

We co-create with the people who will use it

  • Solution co-creation
  • Testing & validation
  • Blueprinting & Value Models

Impact

We stay until it works

  • Real world pilots & validation
  • Transformation management
  • Measure and govern continuous Improvement
Our WORK

We’re driven by outcomes, passionate about collaboration and deeply conscious of today’s realities. Below are just three of our recent experiences and we’d be more than happy to share more.

Three problems. Three transformations

A sleep health ecosystem, built from scratch

A major MedTech company needed more than a product‚ they needed a category-defining sleep-health ecosystem, with a clear value proposition and a path to global scale. We ran collaborative design sprints across Europe and the US, embedding user validation at every stage. The result: the world’s most accurate sleep-measurement app, award-winning in its first year of launch. Read the full story

Through a series of progressive, collaborative design sprints with key executives, the team shaped the complete sleep application experience—spanning concept definition, product design, ecosystem development, and continuous evolution. These sprints were conducted across multiple hubs in Europe and the US, enabling a rich mix of expertise and rapid decision-making. User validation was embedded in every step, ensuring that real-world needs guided both functionality and experience design. The result: the world’s most accurate sleep-measurement app delivering personalised insights, tailored advice, and actionable solution recommendations, that won awards in its first year of launch.

Key Take-aways

  1. A continuous progression model enabled steady development from idea to launch.
  2. User validation became a central pillar of the operating model, informing every major decision.
  3. Cross-continental workshops provided the breadth of expertise needed to build a robust, scalable sleep-health ecosystem.

Cardiac recovery, redesigned around the patient

A leading European pharma company knew its cardiac therapies worked‚ but patients kept stopping their medication after leaving hospital. We mapped the full recovery journey alongside cardiologists, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, and patients themselves, surfacing the emotional and behavioural gaps that traditional research had missed. The journey map became a Europe-wide benchmark for patient-centred cardiac care, adopted across markets. Read the full story

The organisation required a holistic, patient-centred map of the entire recovery journey to guide a transformed approach to adherence, engagement, and communication.

Through a structured design thinking process, we convened and facilitated a diverse coalition of internal experts and external stakeholders—cardiologists, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, pharmacists, behavioural scientists, patient advocates, as well as commercial, medical, and access teams.

Internally, teams lacked a unified view of the patient journey; externally, stakeholders across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, GPs, caregivers, and patient associations each held only partial perspectives.

Across a series of collaborative working sessions, we explored lived experiences immediately after discharge, through rehabilitation, and into long-term secondary prevention. Using in-depth qualitative insights, rapid visualisation, prototyping, and iterative validation rounds with patients and clinicians, the team co-created a comprehensive, emotionally rich end-to-end journey.

This process yielded a distinctive visual representation of the cardiac recovery experience—capturing not only clinical touchpoints but also fears, motivators, behavioural triggers, informational needs, and systemic barriers affecting adherence. This visual and conceptual framework became the foundation for a redesigned adherence strategy, clearer HCP communication tools, and more personalised patient support materials.

Key Take-aways

  1. Multi-stakeholder co-creation delivered a 360° understanding of life after an acute cardiac event, bridging the perspectives of clinicians, patients, and internal teams.
  2. A structured design thinking approach revealed emotional, behavioural, and contextual barriers to adherence that traditional research methods had overlooked.
  3. The resulting visual journey map became a Europe-wide benchmark—adopted across markets as a best-practice representation of patient-centred design and used to align medical, commercial, and patient-support strategies.
  4. The new design framework enabled more meaningful HCP–patient conversations and informed targeted adherence programmes that resonated with real patient needs and decision moments.

Cancer care, made safer between appointments

The most dangerous moments in chemotherapy happen between clinic visits‚ when patients are at home, anxious, and unable to reach their care team. We co-created a remote monitoring solution with clinicians and patients that reduced average hospital stays by 42% and sepsis-related admissions by 62%. It won the HSJ-Macmillan innovation award for patient safety. Read the full story

Patients consistently report that time between appointments generates the most anxiety, with questions arising at home that can’t be answered immediately. Those who complete treatment and enter long-term follow-up face an abrupt transition from intensive support to infrequent check-ins, creating its own psychological burden.

We brought proven “patient first” design, clinical and technology expertise across multiple healthcare settings. We understood that technology is the minor part in meeting the challenge problem—the solution required co-creation with patients and providers to ensure seamless integration into clinical workflows.

Data published data by the lead oncologist demonstrated significant improvements:

  • 42% reduction in average hospital stay (2.2 vs 3.8 days)
  • 62% reduction in sepsis-related stays (1.75 vs 4.6 days)
  • 51% reduction in total bed days (33 vs 68 days)

For Patients:

  • Dramatic reduction in anxiety through continuous care team connection
  • Empowerment via self-monitoring and immediate specialist access
